Project summary

This was a short term contract to work on a 800+ page web site migration for UL (formerly known as Underwriters Laboratories), a global corporation specializing in industrial safety.  I spent an intense 2 months working with a team of contractors and full time employees to prepare for the launch of their new corporate web site. I found my niche building complex pages that other content entry specialists avoided. I enjoyed developing relationships with my team members and with content owners.

My contract was extended post launch to develop educational materials to train content owners to use and update their new corporate website. It was fun to apply my years of academic curriculum design in a corporate environment. I designed, built and recorded five online training modules, each five to fifteen minutes long.

A year later I returned to work on content entry for the second phase of the site design and to update the training and documentation to include extensive site upgrades. I worked independently and collaboratively to plan and successfully implement the first step in updating all of the site documentation.

As a member of the marketing operations team I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects as needed, including quality assurance (QA) testing and writing functional specifications and user stories for new features requested for the corporate website.
