Project Summary

This was a re-design project for a local chapter of an international not-for-profit with an all-volunteer staff. When they came to me, they had a website that met their basic needs but looked outdated, was not mobile friendly and was hard to update because only one volunteer had the required skills. It was also not easy to set up online registration for their events and they wanted to automate registration. They wanted a site that would look clean, contemporary and inviting and that would also look related to their parent organization’s website.

I worked closely with their communications director to develop the site. I collaborated with their volunteer registrar to understand their needs and choose and installed an online event registration plug-in that would meet their needs. I created training manuals and trained 4 staff members to update content.

I provided content management and technical support for 4 years. I guided them through transferring web hosts. I set up and administered Google GSuites for them, creating organization email addresses and training volunteers to use Gmail and Google Drive. The communications director and I collaborated on several projects to promote various events, including designing layouts for event pages and creating campaigns and goals in Google Analytics to track the effectiveness of social media advertising campaigns.
